Volunteers
CECH is looking for VOLUNTEERS!
Chatham Ecumenical Council Helping Prevent Homelessness (CECH) is looking for a few volunteers to add to our all-volunteer non-profit based in Chatham. Here is what prospective volunteers should know…
…CECH volunteers do work that matters. For those struggling with housing issues, CECH has been, and pledges to continue to be, an active participant in community support systems in Chatham and surrounding towns. CECH's mission is accomplished through "neighbors helping neighbors," with a loyal network of volunteers and donors working together to deliver financial assistance for immediate housing-related needs.
…Current volunteer opportunities include:
• Plan and implement special events, for fund-raising as well as for generating awareness of CECH’s mission within the communities CECH serves.
• Provide input to CECH’s digital content development (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, the CECH website)
• Contribute to strategies for the continued advancement of CECH as a non-profit organization
…Desirable volunteer skills/experience include:
• Fund-raising
• Event planning
• Promotion/publicity/marketing
• Computer skills, e.g., Word, Excel; preparation/distribution of meeting minutes
• Digital content development/marketing
• Outreach activities in support of non-profit organizations
…The time commitment for volunteers is activity-specific:
• Participation in monthly board meetings, one hour in duration, conducted in-person at the Community Center as well as remotely via ZOOM
• Variable time commitments depending on the projects/programs in which the volunteer participates. Beyond the participation in monthly meetings, the time commitment is flexible, with no fixed minimum or maximum time commitment.
Interested? You can learn more about CECH’s activities on our website, AND/OR contact CECH directly by email with your questions or expression of interest in a volunteer position: CECH.chatham@gmail.com
One Final Word: Volunteer work with CECH is varied & REWARDING! Each of our current volunteers has their own stories to tell about how their association with CECH has been personally rewarding - in many ways. Join us for the chance to hear from them and to see for yourself!
“Now more than ever our local communities need support systems to help our neighbors in need deal with economic issues brought on by challenging life events. For those struggling with housing issues, CECH has been, and pledges to continue to be, an active participant in that community support system. CECH's mission is accomplished through "neighbors helping neighbors," with a loyal network of volunteers and donors working together to deliver financial assistance for immediate housing-related needs as well as hope for a better tomorrow.”
